Temporary Protected Status (TPS) extended for Venezuelans living in the US seeking work authorization

The U.S. Dept of Homeland Security recently extended TPS for Venezuelans already living in the U.S. This extension may offer protection from deportation, at least temporarily for Venezuelans living in the U.S. citing “extraordinary” circumstances. The most recent TPS designation is valid for 18 months and is only for Venezuelans who came to the US before July 31.

TPS is a special protection for people who aren’t able to return to their home country safely because of dangers like armed conflict, natural disasters, or other extraordinary circumstances.
